The washing machine door seal, also known as a gasket, is a vital component for any front loader appliance. This essential part ensures the door is securely sealed when closed, effectively preventing water leakage during operation. During a wash cycle, most washing machine doors automatically lock, allowing the door seal to perform its primary function.

Several indicators may suggest an issue with your washing machine door seal, potentially necessitating a replacement. You might need to install a new seal if your appliance is leaking from the front of the door, if the door seal itself is torn, warped, or otherwise damaged, or if mold has accumulated at the bottom of the seal beyond the point of cleaning.
