Cleaning the Fluff or lint filters to keep your tumble dryer running at peak efficiency and reducing electrical costs, you should clean the filter every time you use the dryer. If there is a lint filter in the door and/or rim, clear the entire rim at the same time. Use a vacuum with a small nozzle or you can attach a smaller pipe by taping it to the hose.
Safety first! Unplug the machine from the electrical supply and make sure the machine has been idle long enough so that the heater has cooled down.
Once a year vacuum the inside taking special care on the wiring, it is very important to clean all the vent tubes on a regular basis.
Cleaning the heat exchanger (condenser dryers only)
Regularly remove and clean the heat exchanger (which turns the steam back into water) by running it under a tap or hosing it out in the garden. You'll find this located at the bottom of the machine, under the drum. Washing this will help to get rid of any built-up fluff and improve the efficiency of your dryer.
Blockages can cause overheating and cause thermostats to fail
