Zanussi ZDEB47209W Vented Tumble Dryer's Heater Element looks fine. Thermal switches on back of heater both conducting and not open circuit. Not sure where the thermal fuse if any might be? Visually checked circuit board - no obvious blown components.Question: 1. Is there a self test for the heater / thermostats. 2. Is there likely to be a fault code to assist me? If so how to do this. 3. A wiring diagram would be fantastic.

Hi James,

Thank you for your inquiry about your tumble dryer. Zanussi provides excellent technical information, so I have gathered everything you need. I have included links at the top and bottom of the page for any parts you might require.

In the second wiring diagram, you can see the overheat protection thermostat on top of the heater and another thermostat next to it. There are also a couple of relays on the circuit board that control the heating system. I have made a detailed video about these relays in the past.

I have also obtained the Zanussi service manual with all the test procedures. This will help you check the entire machine. There is an NTC sensor on the ducting unit at the bottom and two thermostats on the heating system. One is a cut-out thermostat, and the other is a cycling thermostat. If both thermostats test for continuity correctly, they are not the problem.

Sometimes, the relay on the circuit board can be faulty. This is common with these machines. Your tumble dryer is definitely worth repairing as they don't make them like this anymore. I have added all related videos to help you with any repairs, and the wiring diagram will be very useful.
