Washing machine cold water keeps running into machine even when power is off

My washing machine cold water keeps running into machine even when power is off….hot is working like it should. I ordered a new valve coil set took the new valves off to put it on the old body. Is this because I didn’t put it in properly when I changed it around?

Hi Frank this could be a few problems,
1 you did not put it back together correctly
2 there is grit in the water valve ‘keeping it open’
3 you might have a split in the diaphragm
4 the whole valve is worn and needs replacing
