Samsung WW10N645RBW Washing Machine Not Heating
I have Samsung WW10N645RBW washing machine Ecobubble digital inverter model. The machine is not heating up. I have checked the element and thermostat with a electrical tester and they are ok. My PCB was replaced some years ago and I swapped the current one with the original one (which was ok at time), still no heat. I have run the diagnostic test (from the delayed start procedure) but I am not whether I hear the element coming on during the wash cycle test. The simple diagnostic test shows no error. I am at a loss. Any thoughts? Do you stock the PCB's if it that? Many thanks
I will try and help with this problem about Samsung WW10N645RBW Washing Machine
Hi David,
The first thing you should use is a smart meter to understand the power being drawn by the machine. I've attached a link to a video that shows what these devices do. They cost about £10 but will make diagnosing the machine much easier.
If you've tested the heater and the Ohms reading is consistent with around 2 kilowatts, then the heating element is good. If the NTC sensor has been tested and its Ohms reading is roughly correct, it usually indicates one of two faults: either a problem with the circuit board or a pressure switch issue. However, the most common fault is metal fatigue in the wiring.
Use a multimeter to test every wire in the machine to ensure none are broken internally. Sometimes, because the drum moves, these wires bend back and forth, causing metal fatigue inside the wire. Normally, an error code would appear on the display.
Without having the machine in front of me, diagnosing this problem via email is challenging. So, start by getting a smart meter to see what power is being drawn. It should show around 2 kilowatts when drawing power; if not, it would show around 300-400 watts as the motor rotates.
You could try replacing the pressure switch and checking all wires. Otherwise, I would point to the printed circuit board as this is a common failure item. The problem with many Samsung washing machines is that their circuit boards are encapsulated in silicon, making it hard to check the heater relay.
Using your model number, you might find a machine with another fault (like collapsed bearings or a non-working motor) on sites like eBay. You could then use its PCB for your machine.
I hope you find this helpful. Good luck with your repair!
