Genuine vs. Pattern Door Seals

Answering this question is quite tough for me, Kris. A genuine door seal is made from an injection mould designed specifically for that machine's door seal. A pattern one might look the same but comes from a different mould.

You usually pay more for the genuine part because the manufacturer adds a bigger markup than a pattern manufacturer would. Even though the door seals might look identical, they come from different moulds.

Without having the door seal in front of me, it's hard to give you a definite answer without comparing them directly. Since I don't have these seals in my workshop right now, I can't provide an honest comment.

However, if the genuine seal costs three times more, I'd personally choose the pattern part. Rubber material doesn't change much, but the mould might differ slightly. There could be a small weight difference, but ultimately, it's up to you. For me, at three times the price, I'd go with the replacement part.
