Sorry to hear about the problem with your Samsung heat pump tumble dryer, model number DV70F5E0HGW. These dryers can be tricky to diagnose. From what you’ve described, with the machine display cutting off completely and no lights illuminated, it usually indicates an issue with either the circuit board or the power supply.

First, check the 240-volt power going into the machine at the point where the cable connects to the electronic filter, usually in the top right-hand corner of the machine. From there, it goes to the circuit board. Follow these two wires and test the voltage. If you have 240 volts, then there is likely a problem with the circuit board. There might be a dry joint on one of the solder tracks or a failing component. However, it's hard for me to assist without seeing the machine.

Many Samsung machines have circuit boards encapsulated in silicon, making it difficult to view solder connections and tracks. But it's worth checking. I don’t think there’s an issue with the motor capacitor since that would still leave the electronic display illuminated if there were motor problems. A blank display usually means a problem with either the circuit board or power supply.
