Neff U1421 Top grill melting control knobs

I will try and help with this problem...

this is normally a common problem with the top oven if you are using it as a grill then the door must be fully open if you leave the door only slightly open then all the Heat will be funneled ​toWards the control panel.

also if the thermostat is not working correctly and is on full power all the time this also may be a problem.
