Miele WKF131 Washing Machine Error Messages About Water Filling/Inlet
Customer Question
Matthew Liptrot asks:
During the initial few minutes of a wash cycle, my Miele WKF131 washing machine will complain about "water inlet" (translated from Danish language), then usually switches to draining whatever water managed to be filled, needing a power-off to reset the machine. Initially this occurred intermittently, but now occurs each time. We have managed to workaround it sometimes by starting a different wash cycle (e.g. quick wash), which for some reason seems to more likely pull sufficient water into the machine (possibly through a different nozzle in the drum area), then pausing the cycle and switching to the desired one. However now even this quick wash cycle seems to have problems drawing in water. We have tried cleaning the filters at either end of the external water hose (from tap to machine), and tried running several cleaning cycles (with limescale cleaning pods / citric acid). Very occasionally, it also complains about the water outlet/drain.We guess that this might be an issue with the inlet valve, or some sensor that measures how much water is in the machine.Any ideas on how we could identify the root cause? And if a new part is needed, whether you have the relevant one in stock?Any pointers would be very much appreciated! 🙂

I will try and help with this problem about Miele WKF131 Washing Machine,
Hi Matthew, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your Miele washing machine WKF131. There are different versions of this model, so make sure you have the full ID number from the plate before ordering parts.
First, check the water supply to the machine. Disconnect the hose from the back and put it in a bucket. Turn on the tap to see how much water flows through. If the machine can't fill up in time, it might shut down and pump out automatically due to an error.
You might also have an issue with a water valve or solenoid. Use a multimeter to test each solenoid on the water valves to ensure they open correctly. If you don't have it, you can buy a new one via our multimeter affiliate link. You can even remove the water valve for testing. Poor flow through the water valve could be causing your problem.
Without seeing the machine, it's hard for me to diagnose exactly what's wrong. I've added some videos below that show how water valves work, which might help you know what to look for.
Unfortunately, I don't have technical information on these Miele machines since the manufacturer doesn't share it with the public or even people like me. I hope this helps you figure out what to check. Also, check for calcium build-up in the soap box
