Miele W504 Washing Machine Broken Internal Spider
Customer Question
Mark Beever asks:
Hello, Firstly let me thank you for your excellent YouTube video in taking apart a Miele, I followed it and managed to take everything apart, unfortunately to reveal a corroded internal aluminium spider. Whilst my Miele W504 Washing Machine is 21 years old, it’s in perfect condition apart from this issue, I’m searching for a replacement but it seems to be a rare part indeed. If you can advise (or have one that would replace it) I would be most grateful. Kind regards, Mark
Model: W504
Paul Says:

Hi Mark, thanks so much for the enquiry and sorry to hear about the problem with your Miele W504 Washing Machine,
This is a prime example of built-in obsolescence. Manufacturers only want to make money, not help the general public. They started producing sealed drums, which makes them impossible to repair. You can buy a new drum spider, but it will cost you over £500. I don’t think any of us would be foolish enough to replace the spider when you can buy a new washing machine for less than the cost of the spider.
I’ve published videos on built-in obsolescence, and I would recommend you watch them to better understand the industry. You can find them below.
I'm sorry I can't be much assistance in this matter.
