Logik LCD7W18 Tumble Dryer CH100CF1A Error pump no power not emptying, then the machine stops
After speaking to you on the phone, I've now worked out that my model number is 5701034683, can you help me get some information on this Currys tumble dryer? Pump not receiving any power, i have changed the old pump as it was faulty, I have checkedboth leads from motherboard and they are fine i have no voltage to pump, the mother board is expensive but it looks difficult to get out and I'm frightened of breaking the clips. am thinking to just add a drain in the bottom with a longhose out side any Suggestions would be welcome, thanks Philip
I will try and help with this problem Logik Tumble Dryer CH100CF1A model LCD7W18
Hi Phil. (You owe us a beer for this one when I meet you one day. lol )
It's really tough to figure out the model numbers for Currys-made tumble dryers. They are quite confusing. These machines are made for Currys by a company called Vestel.
The tumble dryer number is 20 digits long, but that's not the model number. The first 8 digits are the product code ID, and the next 8 digits are the order number. To get your identification production number, you add 57 before the order number, as shown in the diagram.
Using the product order number ensures you get the right parts for your machine. There have been over a hundred variations of this machine made for Currys over the years.
your 20 digit number that you gave me was this
00712996010346830047 to work out the number we have had to put 57 in front of the highlighted part of the number 5701034683 why manufacturers make this so confusing I never know.
Now that we have your full model number, I've managed to get the workshop manual and a wiring diagram for your machine. There are over a hundred variations of this machine, which is why it's so confusing.
Firstly, the pump is a 240-volt pump, or actually 230 volts. If the pump works when you attach 230 volts but not in situ, there's no power coming from the circuit board. Alternatively, the micro switch attached to the float chamber might be stuck. If both are working, it usually means there's no voltage from the circuit board. This could be due to a blown relay or other components like a track, resistor, or diode burnt out due to your old pump failing.
Without having the circuit board in front of me, it's nearly impossible to advise you accurately. Your idea of attaching a drain pipe to the bottom of the water collection chamber to let it drain outside naturally should work but I cannot put my name to it as you fully understand. I am a business and would not want anything to go wrong.. However, I'd prefer to see the machine working perfectly as it should.
Please check the exploded diagram to ensure your wiring is correct. Then, refer to the workshop manual to remove and inspect the circuit board for any blown components. If you need to replace the circuit board, I've put a link in the sidebar. Use the full number I've provided to get the correct parts for your machine.
I hope these workshop manuals and wiring diagrams help fix your machine. If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact us.
