LG WM1815CS Washing Machine Shows dE Error Code & Door Will Not Lock When Closed

I will try and help with this problem about LG WM1815CS Washing Machine,

I'm having trouble finding this model number in my system. I’m not sure which country you're from, which might be part of the issue. Sometimes, machines have unique model numbers to prevent price comparisons, and these don't always get registered in the LG database.

I've tried both your serial and model numbers without success. The DE error code indicates a problem with the door lock. Since you can't hear the lock energise, it might be faulty.

We can try identifying the door lock by removing it and looking for a unique number on the mechanism. This would help a lot since there are only five to ten different door locks for LG washing machines. Without this number, I can't assist much further.

Also, check the back of the machine for another identification label. I found the machine on Google, but it doesn't appear in any LG databases.
