LG WD1410SBW Washing Machine Spin Cycle Never Completes
Hi Paul, I was hoping that i can get comfirmation as to why my front load LG WD1410SBW washing machine fails to complete a load, even with the drum empty. I'm suspecting that it is the dampeners or shock absorbers, i have had the washer apart and greased the dampeners (black plastic, there is two) with the white plastic retaining pins to no avail. During the spin cycle when the drum picks up speed in the final few mins of the spin cycle the drum goes out of balance and then stops and starts the process over again. There is also coil spring shock absorbers (two at the front and one at the rear of the drum, i know its protecting itself from shaking apart art that point but im unsure if i should be replacing the black shock absorber or the metal coil spring shock absorbers. Another thing to note is just before the spin cycle starts picking up speed, usually when the drain pump turns on, i tilt the whole washer forward on its front legs (lifting the rear of the washer up) it then seems to balance out and is able to complete the final spin cycle. I have a 16 second video if it helps that i could send or upload to youtube and send you the link if the email doesnt work. At AUD$70 each for the metal coil spring shock absorbers i dont really want to replace them and it not be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I will try and help with this problem about LG WD1410SBW Washing Machine,
Hi Andrew,
Sorry to hear about the issue with your machine. I noticed it's from Australia, and I don't have any electrical schematics for it. You mentioned the machine isn't finishing its cycle, but you didn't specify if it's due to the drum shaking or if it just stops mid-cycle.
Let me explain a few things. There might be an imbalance load sensor that's not working correctly, causing the machine to stop due to an unbalanced load. If the machine is stopping mid-cycle for another reason, it could be several things.
First, check all the water valve solenoids to ensure none are faulty. If the machine can't fill with water at a certain point, it will stop. Similarly, if it can't empty the water, it will also stop.
It's also worth inspecting the heating element. If the machine can't heat up, it would usually stop early in the cycle and show an error.
I wouldn't recommend replacing the springs at the top of the machine, as they rarely go faulty. The shock absorbers at the bottom might need replacing, but they wouldn't stop an empty drum from finishing a cycle.
It's tough to pinpoint the exact issue from your description. Check all major components first before considering changing the shock absorbers.
Hope this helps!
