LG FWV1117BTSA Washer Dryer Shows DHE Error & Warm Wet Clothes After Dry
Customer Question
Julien Mesurolle asks:
Hi Paul,I have an LG FWV1117BTSA.ABLQPUK Washer Dryer that has been returning DHE error from time to time during a drying cycle, I bought the machine in 2022 and the issue started about a year after this some time in 2023. It was happening quite rarely but it started happening more often now. We also noticed that the clothes after a drying cycle were very hot but still wet.I contacted LG who sent someone over and the person didn't seem to know what he was talking about. He first told me that the machine should perform a wash at 95 degrees from time to time to avoid getting this error. He also told me later on that this error might come if the dry load is too heavy. All in all, he is telling us that we have been using the machine wrong and that there is no issues with it. This means that LG is refusing to send us a new machine or replace any components.Based on this, I would like to have a go at it and see for myself what could be the problem. I have watched this video on the subject that is very informative : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X0dFBdnHL0I'm thinking of checking the fan and the ducts to see if there's any fluff to clean up and see if the tub going to the condenser has water in it while a dry program is running. Is there any tips you could give me around this machine and the error ? Maybe something else I could check ?Thank you.Regards,Julien

I will try and help with this problem about LG FWV1117BTSA.ABLQPUK Washer Dryer,
Hi Julian,
Sorry to hear about the problem with your LG washer dryer. Unfortunately, I do not have any schematics for this machine as LG does not provide that information to the public or myself. However, I recommend watching the video below on how washer dryers work. It explains a common problem that people often overlook.
If there is no water going to the condensing unit at the back of the machine, it won't condense the water vapour in the air. There needs to be a temperature difference for condensation to happen. Also, you are right that if any fluff is blocking the airflow through the condensing box, heater, and front of the machine, it could cause problems. It's worth taking apart the heating unit to clean all the fluff off the fan blades and ensure the whole ducting system is clean.
