LG FH4G1BCS2 Washing Machine & Tumble Dryer Suggestions
Hi, thank you very much for your videos and website it's been a great help when fixing countless appliances for my family. I am looking for 2 machines for myself. A washing machine and tumble dryer (condensing or heat pump) which have good reliability and arent too difficult to repair. Anti flood detection is a big plus. If you have any recommendations for models of tumble dryer & washing machines you would recommend, i will keep an eye out for used ones. This LG is under £100 and looks top of the line and not too old 2 years so thought it a good buy, unless there's another brand/models you would recommend.Thank you!PS is there any resources in the UK that support or spread knowledge of right to repair as i would like to get involved.

The LG machine you're considering seems to be of decent quality, and I've found them quite reliable. However, for the tumble dryer, I would advise against a heat pump model. They don't seem to stand the test of time. The condensing and evaporator systems tend to get clogged, and older models often have gas issues.
I would recommend sticking with a condenser dryer. If you're after a high-quality one, look for an older Zanussi, AEG, or Electrolux condenser dryer, around four or five years old. These were very well made. The only downside is that the water collection tray is at the bottom of the machine rather than the top.
The build quality of these dryers has always been good. The only common issue I've seen is occasional circuit board failure, but this is rare. Both the build quality and drying efficiency are impressive.
Regarding the right to repair, our country lags behind the rest of Europe. Here, many appliances come with just a 12-month guarantee, whereas in Europe, a two-year guarantee is compulsory. To get involved in repairs, you can join local repair clubs by contacting your council or explore online tutorials and forums.
