Indesit IWDC6125 Washer Dryer All Lights At Top Flashing On Panel
New pump filter part put into the indesit iwdc6125. The vanes on pump itself move freely.Combined Wash/ & Dry programmes do not complete but stall with flashing lights. Switching off at plug appears to clear it but it repeats after a while. It sometimes seems to get stuck on rinse cycle when this happens, thereby extending completion times.HOWEVER: If a WASH only cycle is selected, followed (after wash finished) a DRY only cycle it completes the job without flashing lights roughly on the times indicated in manual.Is it possible for a rogue bit of debris to be blocking exhaust / drain pipe or similar in drain from wash tub itself??Machine has had only light/occasional use until recenty as it is in a holiday cottage. Ideas? Many thanks

Thanks very much for the email. From what you've described, this could be an intermittent fault. Here are a few things to check:
First, look at the sump hose that connects the drum to the pump. Make sure it's clear and there are no small bits of clothing stuck in it, as this can restrict emptying. Also, ensure there are no plastic bands or anything wrapped around the impeller. Check if the machine empties properly during a rinse cycle within the allocated time.
Next, observe the flow rate coming out of the waste pipe. If the machine can't empty in time, it will show errors.
For the drying cycle, several reasons might cause it not to dry. Any malfunctioning component on the drying side can create an error. Check for a small flow of water from one of the water valves to the condensing plate at the back of the mid-drum. Ensure the heater is on and drying the clothes. Also, make sure the circulation fan that drives air from the heater box at the top is working and there are no blockages in the system.
There are several sensors and thermostats that control the drying cycle. If any of these aren't working correctly, it will bring up an error. Diagnosing which part is faulty can be challenging without seeing the machine in person. It's often a process of elimination to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
