Hi after using your video i stripped my Hotpoint TVM570P Vented Tumble Dryer down the slides the drum sits on have worn out but so has the plastic the slides sit on under the drum so the only used part i can find to replace it that is affordable is air shield c00288738 do you know if this would suffice ? Also how does the seal join is it the same seal as it doesnt look like there is a part for the start and end of the tape to go into ? thanks

Hi Nigel,

Sorry to hear about the problem with your Hotpoint TVM570P vented tumble dryer. It sounds like using the machine for too long has caused more damage, especially since the pads have worn out completely.

I've included some exploded diagrams of your machine and a link at the top of the page that will take you to all the spare parts for it. In the diagram below, you'll see that parts 213 are the pads. The plastic bit you mentioned is part 257, which is the whole front assembly. This might be expensive to replace.

Here's a cheaper solution: use your model number and search on eBay for Hotpoint TVM570. The P just indicates the colour (polar white). There may be other versions in black or almond. If you find a second-hand machine with a fault, you could get it for as little as £10-£20. This way, you'll have spare parts for your machine and save money compared to buying a new front cover. Plus, you'll have extra spares for future use.

It's also worth putting new pads on and inspecting the phosphorus bronze bearing at the back of the machine since these wear out quickly. I've added some videos below to help with repairs, and the link to spare parts is at the top of the page.
