I'm really sorry for the late reply. As you know, I've just returned from the IFA trade show in Berlin and took some time off for myself.

Regarding your Hotpoint heat pump tumble dryer, the manufacturers haven't made things easy. I've got the exploded diagrams for you below. In the fifth diagram, you'll see a cover (reference number 20) that needs to be removed to give you access. However, it's often easier to remove the drum first. This way, you can clean inside the evaporator and all the ducting systems properly.

It's also worth cleaning out the pump system (number 16 in the diagram) because a lot of fluff can build up there and cause blockages. This is a long and tedious job, which is one reason I don't like heat pump tumble dryers. They are too complicated and usually have problems within five years of purchase.

At the trade show, I noticed an increase in filtration systems across all manufacturers. It seems they understand that too much fluff gets into the evaporator matrix (part one in the diagram). When airflow is restricted here, the machine's efficiency drops drastically.

I'm sorry I couldn't get you the workshop manual. Hotpoint has been poor at providing data to the public. Built-in obsolescence makes our jobs harder.
