Hotpoint NSWM 1045C W UK N Washing Machine Drum Paddle
Hello, I have seen many of your videos but none show how to remove the paddles from my Hotpoint NSWM 1045C W UK N washing machine, neither do any others on the internet. Are you able to help?I have seen most allow you to release the paddle by pressing down through the third hole. However this doesn’t seem to happen on mine?Thank you. Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Sorry to hear about the issue with your Hotpoint washing machine. There’s some good and bad news.
Firstly, the bad news: your machine has a sealed drum. This means we can’t split the drum to access the drum paddle from the base. However, we might be able to see the drum paddle (part number 14 in the diagram) by removing the sump hose at the bottom of the machine (part number 13). By doing this, you should be able to see the bottom of the paddle. This will help you identify whether a pinhole has a locking tab or, in some cases, a screw holding the drum paddle in place. It’s similar to what’s shown in the additional videos I’ve included.
The good news is that Beko has recently acquired Hotpoint. I’m heading to the IFA trade show in Berlin and hope to meet some of their representatives. Beko has been making an effort to provide technical data to help people repair their machines. Now that they own Hotpoint, we can hope for some positive changes. Hotpoint hasn’t been good about sharing technical information and often creates these sealed drums, which is frustrating.
I still don’t understand why manufacturers use sealed drums; it seems like planned obsolescence. Anyway, I hope this information helps you. Good luck with your repair!
