I have a Hotpoint HDM67G0CCX oven and my digital display stopped showing timer settings altogether. It’s completely blank, so I have to guess the time, which isn’t ideal. Occasionally, the timer starts beeping randomly, and when I try to reset it, it either won’t stop or won’t set at all. Is this a common problem, and how can I fix it?

Hi Scarlett,

I'm sorry to hear about the problem with your Hotpoint oven timer. You mentioned you have model number Hotpoint HTM67G0CCX. The first thing you need to check is whether there is voltage going to the timer.

I don't have a wiring diagram for this cooker because Hotpoint doesn't usually share that information. However, I can tell you that the timer typically has two wires attached: a live wire and a neutral wire. These come in on two connectors, usually labelled. There are also one or two relays on the timer to control the start and stop times for the bottom and main oven.

You need to check if there are 240 volts going to the timer. If there are 240 volts but the timer isn't lighting up, then the timer is faulty and needs replacing. Although it's possible to bypass the relays, as shown in some of my YouTube videos, I generally recommend just replacing the timer.

Replacing the timer isn’t too difficult, but you may need to remove the hob to access the switch gear, which includes selector switches, thermostat, and timer. You might need help from someone skilled with electrics.

I've added exploded diagrams of your machine at the bottom of the page, along with links to a full list of spare parts for your cooker. The timer is labelled as part 16 in one of these diagrams. Remember to take a photo of the wiring before removing any wires from the timer.
