From what you've described, it sounds like the machine fills, starts to wash, and then cuts out after a few seconds. This could be due to one of two reasons.

Firstly, the heating system is a common fault on these dishwashers and needs checking. You can do this with a multimeter. Remember, the element has two thermostats built into the connection point.

The second issue could be the water flow matrix. Manufacturers use different names for this part, but in the diagram below, it's part number 24. It tends to get clogged with gunk from the machine. This part needs cleaning. There’s a small impeller that rotates as the machine fills with water. To access it, you need to remove the side panel on the left-hand side of the dishwasher. There is a large nut inside that holds it in place. You can clean this part, but you can't replace the impeller or the small circuit board inside.

Here’s how it works: as water enters the machine, the impeller turns and measures the amount of water going in. If it doesn't detect the correct amount within a set time, it triggers an error, causing your lights to flash and automatically turning on the pump to drain all the water out.
