Hi Chris, link above to any spares

Thanks for your question about your vented tumble dryer. You mentioned you have a VHV380-80 model and it's only blowing cold air. I've put together this page with some useful videos and a wiring diagram to help you fix your machine.

First, check the thermal fuse on the heater, known as the cutout thermostat, to ensure it's working properly. Also, check the cycling thermostats on the heater. Make sure the forward NTC sensor on the machine is functioning correctly. If all these parts are working, you might have an issue with the relay you mentioned, a G2RL-1A-E 24 volt DC relay. It's easy to remove and replace this relay from the circuit board. You can usually find them for around £10 on eBay, but make sure you get the correct ampage relay to avoid problems.

There are six variations of your machine. I’ve included an exploded diagram with all the components. You’ll need the full model number and PNC number when ordering spare parts; there's a link above to help you get these details.

I've also added a basic workshop manual that guides you through test procedures and provides information on any parts of the machine. There are a couple of useful videos showing how to maintain the machine and common faults, including one on keeping passageways clean.

Remember not to open the door mid-cycle, as this can cause problems with the heating system thermostats, leading them to overheat and cut out. Also, if your machine has a ducting pipe, clean it out once a year to ensure good airflow and proper drying.

I hope this information helps you. Below is a video to assist you in replacing the relay for the heater unit. Good luck with your repair, and Happy New Year to you and your family!

All the best,
Paul
