Hoover VHV180 Tumble Dryer Not Operating After Repair

Hello Paul, Hoover VHV180 Tumble Dryer.I followed your instructions to replace the bearing and capacitor (humming noise) to the letter. I plugged in and switched on and there was a loud POP followed by an electrical burning smell. I have unplugged the machine straight away. The pop came from the capacitor/motor area. The power light is not coming on now. Would you advise me how I can check what has happened please?Best regardsPaula

Paula, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your tumble dryer. It's impossible for me to diagnose the problem with your Hoover dryer without seeing it in person. I don't know what could have gone wrong.

I've got a wiring diagram for your machine that should help anyone with electrical skills to figure out the issue. But without the dryer here, it's like asking for a miracle to diagnose it.

I've also found an exploded diagram of your tumble dryer, and there's a link at the top of the page for any parts you might need. However, without having the machine on my workbench, I can't tell you exactly what's wrong.

I'm sorry I can't be more help. Diagnosing a fault without the machine present is very difficult. Good luck with your repair.
