Hi Glyn,
Sorry to hear about the problem with your Hisense Heat Pump Tumble Dryer, model number DHQA902U. You mentioned that the motor and drum are not turning. If you're lucky, it might be a simple issue with the capacitor.
It's frustrating that manufacturers in the UK offer only a 12-month guarantee. In Europe, you would have had a statutory two-year guarantee.
Unfortunately, I can't provide detailed technical information on this machine. However, I can share a link to any spare parts you might need. It seems the capacitor that could be faulty is sold only with the motor. From a picture, I've identified the capacitor as 9UF. You'll need to strip down the machine to reach the motor and check the side of it for the capacitor. It will have a number indicating how many microfarads (UF) it is.
Usually, if it's a capacitor fault, you will hear a slight hum from the drum motor when you press the start button. If it's not the capacitor, it could be an issue with the printed circuit board or something worse.
I'm also sorry to hear about your TV. This is another example of Chinese manufacturers not building quality appliances. I've made a video on heat pump tumble dryers, which I'll include below to show how they work.
When ordering spare parts for this model, be aware there are 20 different variations. You'll need all the numbers from your identification plate and possibly the product number as well.
It does not surprise me that you have not been able to get an engineer to work on the appliance as they are well aware how poorly these machines are made not only this brand but all heat pump tumble dryers
Good luck with your repair!
