Hi paul, this brandt bxc6537xs oven works if earth disconnected at plug. if earth connected the oven get short..not sure if important: disconnecting the earth at the back of the oven cut off ghe electricity. I tried already increasing temperature (without earth) but no avail. plug sharing extension with microwave and blender but no problems can it be fixed? can I use it without earth? Brandt Malaysia useless..not answering my emails tia for your time

Good morning! If you're having an issue with the earth, it's a direct short, and I don't recommend using the machine with the earth disconnected. It's dangerous. Usually, one of the elements is causing the problem.

To test this, you can use a mega or insulation tester, but I understand not everyone has this tool as it's quite expensive. You need to find which element is going to earth. One way to test is by disconnecting each element individually with the earth connected and then retesting the appliance. However, I suggest getting someone with the right electrical equipment to test it properly.

There are two different models of this cooker because they changed the design slightly during production. I've put a link here for you that will take you to the two different types of Brandt oven. Make sure to use your full model number to get the correct parts for your cooker. You can usually find this number just inside the door on the lower right-hand side.
