Hi Paul,

Thank you for contacting us about your Bosch condenser tumble dryer. You mentioned it is 12 years old and you've cleaned the fluff filter, condensing unit, and moisture sensor. The machine turns off after about a minute, and you suspect a circuit board fault.

Before considering replacing the circuit board, we need to check a few things. Bosch is not very good at providing technical information for the Bosch WTE84105GB/31 model. This makes it hard for DIY repairs.

First, check the two wires connected to the moisture sensor and test the sensor where it connects to the circuit board. You can use a multimeter to take an ohms reading while dampening the moisture sensor inside the drum. I'll explain this in a video, which I will add to this page.

There are also helpful videos showing how condenser tumble dryers work, how to clean the moisture sensor, and how to check the NTC sensors on the machine. However, I do not have the exact value for the forward NTC sensor because Bosch does not provide this information.

Set up your multimeter on the NTC sensor at the circuit board to check the wiring. When you touch the NTC sensor with your fingers, you should see a change in value as heat is transferred to the sensor.

If you have checked everything on the machine and all parts are functional, including both thermostats on the element, the element itself, and all wiring, then we can assume that the circuit is good. This might indicate a fault with the circuit board, but I cannot be sure without seeing the machine.
