Bosch SHE43F16UC Dishwasher Water Inlet/Outlet Reservoir Fault

I have a problem with Bosch SHE43F16UC Dishwasher's water inlet/outlet reservoir. Inlet side: There is a hole at the top of the reservoir. During any cycle, at beginning when water is coming in, water will leak out of that hole. What is the hole for? What is causing the water to rise to the level of that hole? NOTE: When I tape up the hole, the machine works perfectly. Water goes inside and never reaches the level of the hole. NOTE: If I tape the hole and allow the water level to stabilize, and then remove the tape, the cycle completes with no problem. Next new cycle, the water leaks out of that hole.

Hi Mark,
Yes, I've noticed many issues with these reservoir systems. Even a small amount of dirt can build up inside, restricting the water flow and possibly causing it to come out the top. You can remove these units and, if there are no electrical components, soak them in a warm solution for a few hours. After soaking, you can blast them with a high-pressure water system to try and clean them. Unfortunately, you can't take these apart.
The biggest problem I've seen is calcification inside when people use hard water. This is a constant issue and should be addressed every couple of years. I've included a picture below to show you the part I'm talking about. Many dishwashers have faults with these reservoirs, and they are very difficult to clean properly since you can't split them.
