Hi, I have a Beko WMP601W washing machine. After a regular wash cycle my machine seems to be leaving water in the drum so the clothes remain soaked. However, when I then set the machine to a spin+drain cycle, the water is clearing fully. This doesn’t make sense to me. Can anyone explain why this could be? I’ve already checked the filter, waste hose, sink trap and the impeller appears to be spinning correctly with that little elastic resistance when I turn it with my finger. Thanks in advance

Hi Pownallsnooks5457 sorry to hear about your problem with Beko WMP601W washer. I can't remember if this motor has carbon brushes or a circuit board but if it uses carbon brushes you’ll want to check them.

If there’s water in the drum it usually means there’s a blockage in the system. This could be a blockage in the sump hose—possibly caused by an elastic band or a small object wrapped around the pump. You might also have a pump issue such as a failed pump or an impeller that has come loose from the pump shaft, possibly knocked off by a coin or another small object.

You should also check the waste pipe. If your machine is plumbed into a sink unit there could be a blockage at the connection point which can also cause drainage problems.
