Beko WIR725451 Washing Machine PCB Burn Out & Motor Safety
Hi Paul, found you via YouTube, great advice and well appreciated. I have a question regards the motor bushes on my Beko WIR725451 washing machine. Following your video, my PCB has burnt out and so I've managed to order another one. Question, would you change the bushes on the motor as a precaution? They look ok, the motor doesn't make any excess noise (clicks etc) but obviously something has made the PCB burn out and I don't want to end up burning another one out accidently. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes, Jamie
I will try and help with this problem about Beko WIR725451 Washing Machine,
Hi Jamie,
I'm not sure what exactly went wrong with your circuit board, so I can't give a precise answer. However, it's always a good idea to change the carbon brushes if they're less than 1cm long. If the motor is the issue, replacing the circuit board won't help much.
Check the armature for any high points on the lugs. If the motor sparks while turning, it can cause high resistance and further problems with the circuit board. Without seeing the machine, it's tough to diagnose accurately. Many things can cause a circuit board to blow, like dampness on the board or wiring issues. Incorrectly fitted motor plugs or connectors can also lead to problems.
The heating element could be an issue too, as it draws a lot of amperage. However, it's usually the motor that causes these problems. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful without seeing your machine, but I've added some videos to help you inspect the motor. I hope this helps.
I've also uploaded the wiring diagram for your machine and a document on testing components throughout the machine. There are videos below to help you. If you need any parts, they will either be shown at the bottom of the page or you can use the link in the sidebar.
