Beko BBIS25300XC Oven Tripped Electric, Not Heating On Fan Mode Any More
Customer Question
John J asks:
Hi, I bought a Beko BB1S25300XC cooker just over a year ago from Magnet Kitchen Store when I had my new kitchen fitted. The oven worked fine until last Sunday. While doing a roast, it tripped the electricity supply. I managed to get the cooker running again, but now the main fan oven setting doesn't work. Only the grill and a few other functions are working.I've taken the cooker out of the cupboard and noticed a lot of electronic circuit boards inside when I removed the top. It's different from my old cooker, which only had a thermostat. Could you help me diagnose the problem and identify which parts I might need? It seems there are three elements in the cooker, all connected through a switching unit and circuit board. However, I can't find a wiring diagram or information on this cooker. Are you able to assist?

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIS25300XC Oven,
Hi John,
I understand your confusion. The exploded diagrams of your machine can be tricky. At the bottom of the page, there's a diagram showing all the components behind the facial panel. It lists two circuit boards, 1039 and 96, but only 96 is used on this cooker. I believe 1039 might be for other variations of this cooker.
You still have a selector switch and a thermostat on this cooker. The selector switch is reference number 93, and the thermostat is reference number 263. You can use these numbers to find the correct parts at the bottom of the page. Match the reference number to the part number, and they are clickable links that will take you to the right part for your machine.
Testing this cooker is quite simple since it only uses a circuit board for the timer. The timer is digital and controls when to start and stop. This activates the relay on the circuit board, which normally allows power to pass through to the selector switch or appropriate function.
From the wiring diagram, you'll see that both the thermostat and selector switch are connected to the circuit board. As long as the circuit board works correctly, power should flow from the selector switch to the element. You can test this by turning on the oven to the fan oven setting. You should get 240 volts at the fan oven element while the fan motor runs until it reaches the right temperature, then it will disconnect and reconnect as it cools.
I hope this helps you repair your cooker. There is also a service manual that explains each fault or error in detail. It covers how to test and access each component. Modern Beko cookers now use full circuit board systems with NTC sensors instead of thermostats and selector switches.
I made the video below to assist people with modern cookers that have PCBs replacing switches and mechanical thermostats. It might not be on a Beko, but I will be making one but it will explain the whole process of how modern circuit boards control the heating system soon.
Common Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
