Beko BBIFA12300AC Oven Not Starting
Customer Question
Perry C. asks:
Coming from your youtube channel. Could not find the exact model of mine. I have a problem with my beko bbifa12300ac oven which is bought from Argos. They told me that this particular model cooks with less oil due to the airfry technology and there I was convinced. It was working perfectly until last week when it suddenly stopped starting altogether. I checked the power supply and everything seems fine, but the oven just won't turn on. All other appliances connected to the same power source are working without any issues. I've tried resetting the oven, but nothing happens. I have also tried unplugging the oven and plugging it back in after a few minutes to see if that would reset any possible faults, but no difference.Could you help me? Thank you for your time and assistance!

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIFA12300AC Oven,
Hi Perry, sorry to hear about the problem you have with your Beko BBIFA12300AC Oven but also thanks for your question. Air fryer technology is similar to a fan oven but in a smaller space. Because of the high air flows in an air fryer, it cooks more efficiently and quickly. The smaller cavity size means the fan motor, which is about the same size as your oven's, pushes air around the food faster.
Now, let's address your problem. If your oven isn't coming on at all, it might be an issue with the timer or the circuit board. There's also a selector switch that might not be sending power to the oven. You didn't mention if the fan motor runs when you select the oven or if it's completely off, so I'll cover both possibilities.
I've added some useful videos below to explain circuit board technology and help diagnose problems. If you look at the wiring diagram, terminal one on your selector switch should send power to the thermostat, which then powers the element. Terminal three sends power to the fan motor. If none of these work, it could indicate a timer issue or a fault with it.
If the fan motor runs but there's no heat, it might be a problem with the fan oven element. You can test this with a multimeter, and I have videos showing how to do this. Since I don't have your machine in front of me, I've included the wiring diagram and full workshop manual for your cooker. The manual has sections for diagnosing problems, testing procedures, and replacing faulty components. If you don't have a multimeter, you can buy a new multimeter via our affiliate link.
At the bottom of the page, you'll find exploded diagrams of your machine with reference numbers. These numbers match parts in a list at the bottom of the page, where you can find genuine part numbers that link to searches for the correct component.
It took me a while to put this together for you. Another thing to check is if there's a cutout thermostat isolating power output. I haven't read the whole manual on this problem but included it for you to diagnose things yourself.
You can buy your Beko BBIFA12300AC Oven's spare parts via this link.
I hope this helps you repair your cooker. There is also a service manual that explains each fault or error in detail. It covers how to test and access each component. I've also included exploded diagrams and related videos on oven not working faults with Beko BBIFA12300AC ovens below that might help you.

In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;
- Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
- Oven won't heat because timer on manual.
- Oven won't heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
- Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
- Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.
Common Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
