Beko BBIE12301BMP Oven Not Heating Correctly + Self Cleaning Function Seems Not Working
Customer Question
Harlan Underwood asks:
The oven doesn't seem to get up to a high temperature I've tried using the self-cleaning function on my Beko BBIE12301BMP electric oven, but it doesn't seem to work either. I set it up according to the instructions, but nothing happens. The oven doesn't heat up or start the cleaning cycle. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIE12301BMP Oven,
Hi Harlan, sorry to hear about the trouble with your Beko BBIE12301BMP oven not heating or oven's self-cleaning function not working correctly. When the self-cleaning cycle doesn't start, there are a few potential causes to consider. I've also included exploded diagrams, common problems with electrical ovens, and related videos on self cleaning faults with Beko BBIE12301BMP ovens below that might help you.
First, we need to address the oven not heating correctly. If it doesn't reach the right temperature, this could also affect the self-cleaning function. Your cooker has three elements that you need to test.
The grill element is at the top and has two circuits. Use a multimeter to check if it's working properly. Next, look at the fan oven element, which is part number 98 in the diagram. There's also a base element, part number 106. Any of these elements not working correctly might be causing heating issues.
If the fan motor isn't turning at the correct RPM, it can't distribute heat around the oven. There might also be a thermostat problem, preventing the oven from reaching the desired temperature. The self-cleaning mode usually heats up to around 240°C to burn off fat residue from the panels.
Test all these elements and use a temperature gauge inside the oven to check if it reaches the required temperature. Replace any faulty elements. There's an exploded diagram below showing all components and their reference numbers, which match up with the parts list at the bottom of the page.
I've included a wiring diagram to help you understand the electrical circuit. The oven has two fan motors: one for cooling (shown in the diagram) and another next to the fan oven element for air distribution. You'll need to take the cooker out of its place and remove the back to test the elements.
There's also an error sheet for step-by-step testing of all elements and components on the cooker. I spent some time putting this together for you, and I hope it helps. Additionally, there are some useful videos below about ovens not reaching temperature that are worth watching.
You should check the temperature sensor and thermostat with a multimeter. If you don't have a multimeter, you can buy a new one with our affiliate link. Test these components for continuity to ensure they’re working correctly. If either part is faulty, replacing it can fix your problem.

I've included exploded diagrams and videos on checking and replacing parts with Beko BBIE12301BMP ovens that might help you. All part numbers and exploded diagrams are listed below. If you need more help, feel free to contact me.
In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;
- Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
- Oven won't heat because timer on manual.
- Oven won't heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
- Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
- Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.
Coomon Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
