Beko BBIE12301BMP Electric Oven Stops Working Sometimes After 5 Sometimes Longer
Customer Question
Joe asks:
There’s something wrong with my Beko BBIE12301BMP oven's door/oven alignment. I have 2 of these ovens and it happens on both. If you look from the side you can see the door at the top when closed isn’t inline. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos and taken the door off but don’t know what I’m really doing. These are both brand new ovens. I don’t know what to call it but in the top right corner of the oven there’s a little kinda switch which clicks when you shut the door. It lines up with a kinda pocket on the inside of the door which I folded some card board up small so it made and kept a connection to the switch when cooking and this worked for a while so I’m guessing it’s something to do with that. Hope this makes some kind of sense to you.

Paul Says:
I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIE12301BMP Electric Oven,
Joe, sorry to hear about the trouble with your Beko oven. These ovens use a new hinge system. I've got the workshop manual for you. If you go to page 76, it starts explaining the hinge system.
I think your door might not be shutting correctly, or the hinge alignment is off. If the door hinge isn't in the right position, the door won't shut at the top. Since these ovens are new, it shouldn’t be a fault with the hinge itself. It might have been installed badly, causing misalignment.
If your oven is still under guarantee, I would definitely get the manufacturer to look at it. But first, double-check that the hinges are in the correct position. I've also included a wiring diagram and other useful information on test procedures. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find exploded diagrams of your machine with numbers on them. The hinges for your oven are numbered 45 in the diagram. Match this number to the genuine part number at the bottom of the page. It's a clickable link to the hinges you need.
The hinges aren’t expensive, but if it's under guarantee, you should be able to replace them through the manufacturer if they are faulty. I hope this information helps you get your cooker working again.
Yes, if the switch isn’t pressed in correctly, it would interrupt the cooking cycle. And if the door is ajar at the top, you're losing heat as well.
Good luck with your repair! If you need more help, feel free to contact us. I’ve also added some videos that will assist you with these hinges.
All the best,
Paul
In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;
- Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
- Oven won't heat because timer on manual.
- Oven won't heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
- Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
- Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.
Coomon Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
