AEG TR959M6BC Tumble Dryer Not Collecting Water

My AEG TR959M6BC heat pump tumble dryer is running but it’s not collecting any water and my clothes aren’t drying properly. I’ve checked the water tank but it’s empty even after multiple cycles. I cleaned the lint filter and checked the condenser unit but that didn’t help too. What could be causing the dryer not to extract the water?

Let's address the issue of it not collecting water. There are two main reasons for this. First, the pump might not be transferring water to the collection tray. This could be due to a faulty pump or a blockage. In the workshop manual and exploded diagrams, you'll see reference number 506, which is the pump unit that moves water to the collection tray, labelled 441 in another diagram.

Another possible problem is with the refrigeration process at the bottom of the unit. Diagram 400 shows the base of the heat pump dryer, which contains the evaporator, condenser unit, and compressor. If fluff and debris block this area, it won't extract moisture from the warm air inside. The compressor might not be running or could be low on gas.

You didn't mention if the clothes were getting warm. If they are warm while drying, it suggests that the compressor and gas levels are fine. If the clothes are cold and there's no heat, there might be an issue with either the compressor or gas.
