This essential seal is fitted between the two halves of the plastic outer tub (front and back sections) to create a high-pressure, leak-proof barrier, preventing water from escaping the drum assembly.

If your washing machine is leaking heavily from the rear of the drum area, this seal is likely perished, cracked, or hardened and needs immediate replacement to prevent major water damage and corrosion to internal components like the motor and bearings.
